Gift giving is often very difficult and
stressful for people, particularly if they don't have a clue what the
gift recipient wants or needs. Of course it's easier buying for family
members for whom we have some knowledge of their likes and dislikes,
but what do we buy that family member who has everything? Money
is often wasted on bad gifts because we don't really know what the
recipient likes, or we buy anything just to get the experience over
with. Below are some guidelines for giving gifts for these difficult
situations. Use a Gift Registry
First of all, if you know the person for whom you are buying for has
created a registry online, use it! Online registries are a great way to
find exactly what the person wants and hasn't gotten yet. This will
save you a lot of time and money!
Giving Gifts to Bosses and other Co-Workers
As an employee, we often feel
stressed out around the holidays trying to find the right gift for our
bosses. It's important to collaborate with your coworkers
in order to figure out what to purchase. Gifts should not be given to
bosses from individuals, but rather from the whole group. Get together
and figure out what your boss likes. One option is to buy a
gift certificate to his/her favorite place to dine, shop or relax.
Giving Gifts to Clients / Customers
We don't want to forget to show how much we appreciate the business
our client or customers have given us over the past year. As a token of
your appreciation it is often customary to send a small gift in the
mail, or hand deliver one if possible. A gift basket of fruits,
chocolates, or cookies is a wonderful to say thanks and they'll enjoy
every morsel of it! See some great ideas by clicking on the images below.
